Try Market Hall “The Hall” @ Lakeside

As we revealed back in our March blog, our specialist consultant-led projects division The Design House has been working from the initial concept stage with the team behind (Try) Market Halls to deliver a fresh twist of the increasingly popular Food Hall concept.    The third and largest to date Hall recently opened at the Intu Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex, which averages over 500,000 visitors per week.

The Hall is located in a brand new leisure area Intu created to further enhance their own service offering and as such, offered the team the benefit of designing the Food Hall from scratch, rather than having to accommodate it within the constraints of existing buildings as was the case at their first two Victoria and Fulham Halls.

As such, the Hall benefits from a fusion of modern and more traditional design, with the 7 Food “Stores” complementing each other and the two Bars, including a dedicated Sports-themed one.   Supporting individual or start-up food concepts is a key focus for Try Market Halls and every Store has its own tailored production kitchen, allowing delicious, freshly prepared food to be produced and served efficiently.   Queue times even at peak service are therefore manageable, enabling a far more pleasant environment for the customers and staff alike.

The Design House and client alike further benefited from our wider Airedale Group’s manufacturing expertise.   Every Store has its own bespoke fabrication and ventilation systems; the central Cold Stores were designed by that Airedale division and the Bars also have all their work shelves and benches manufactured and installed by us.

All the Bars and Stores have a central dishwash area, managed by Market Hall’s own staff, which further enhances the service.   The Design House and Market Hall team focused heavily on this area as it is critical to the success of the whole Hall.   The Design House used the exclusive partnership our wider Group has with leading European manufacturer Fagor Industrial to spec’ and install their one of their rack dishwashers; the Market Hall team further benefiting from the day one service and warranty support our Airedale Technical Care division offers as part of our partnership with Fagor.
