Group Welcomes New BIM Manager
Building Information Modelling, most commonly referred to as BIM, is revolutionising the whole commercial project design and build process. The National Building Specification (NBS) defines BIM as:
“a process for creating and managing information on a construction project across the project lifecycle.”
Since the Government’s Level 2 Mandate came into force back in April 2016, any public sector new build has to be delivered within BIM. The public sector remains a key part of Airedale’s business, in particular designing and delivering many of the country’s new schools under Government build programmes such as Priority Schools.
Appointing a specific BIM Manager to reinforce our position as the leading specialist commercial catering facility design and project delivery company in the UK is therefore pivotal. After an extensive recruitment process we are therefore delighted to welcome on board our new BIM Manager Darran. When asked what his principle objectives will be, Darran responds:
“to increase productivity and quality of work. Our existing team are already experienced in working within BIM and we aim to complete all of their personal accreditation followed by a business-wide accreditation as soon as we can. ”
