Wellington College

Wellington College is one of the leading private schools in the country, set in beautiful grounds and historic buildings dating back to when it was founded in memorial of the Duke of Wellington in 1859.   The College currently has over 1040 pupils, 81% of them full boarders.  As such, the commercial kitchen facilities have to cater for pupils and staff alike throughout the day, seven days’ a week.  In addition, the College is exceptionally popular as a venue for numerous external events over the holidays.  Accordingly,  there is great demand on the College’s kitchens.

Producing and serving fresh food then clearing the students’ and staff members’ trays in a very limited time is an operational challenge the majority of schools have to try and overcome.  Utilising our experience developed over 30 years and our ethos of early stage engagement with all stakeholders, we spent a significant amount of time experiencing first-hand the then existing operation, identifying potential bottle necks and making recommendations.   These included specifying a bespoke Rendisk commercial rack dishwasher, which has subsequently gone on to save the College over 85% on costs, a significant ROI.  The principle commercial catering equipment partner for the Cooking Line was Rosinox.

The result is a superb facility that not only fits in perfectly within the historic building but overcomes these challenges to the benefit of the catering staff, pupils and teachers alike.
