Airedale supports local Primary School!

At our heart, Airedale remains a proud Yorkshire-based company and where ever possible we look to support our local community, whether it be our on-going charity work for St Martin’s Hospice in Boston Spa, raising money at York Races and helping out specific community-led initiatives or schools.   One such school is Armley Primary School, located in that area of Leeds and only 6 miles from our Head Office and factory.

Through school Governor links to one of our senior finance team members-always quite handy-we were delighted to supply a brand new British-built, premium Williams refrigerated cabinet worth over £2,000 for free.  Armley is one of the more economically disadvantaged areas of Leeds and its Primary School has a higher than average requirement for free school meals.   Until Airedale intervened, the school was not able to extend this to offering their pupils with a Breakfast Club.   We are delighted that the school are now using this refrigerated cabinet to store the food offered for a Breakfast Club and that uptake has been very high indeed.   It has been scientifically proven how beneficial eating Breakfasts can be for the development of children so this a small but valuable contribution.
