Airedale continues to lead the way in commercial catering design!

As we begin 2019 with confidence and excitement, we are delighted to announce that we have appointed a new BIM Coordinator to assist our BIM Manager who joined Airedale last summer.  The appointment reinforces our industry-leading capabilities to work for clients within the BIM Environment on all aspects of a commercial catering design.   We passionately believe that BIM will revolutionise the design and project build process, a belief that is quantified by us currently working on more BIM projects than at any other time in our history, for an increasingly disparate client base.

In a similar vein we are also really excited about utilising VR within our commercial catering designs, which will allow our clients to quite literally walk around their proposed designs before final approval.   Rather than a “marketing gimmick” we see VR as another integral part of our design process.  We will be demonstrating one VR walk-through at next week’s Garden Centre Association Annual Conference at Luton Ho, using our own branded VR pop-up Goggles.

Our manufacturing divisions Caterform, Airedale Ventilation Services and Airedale Cold Stores are also embracing innovative design software.  Since last summer, Caterform’s own Design Manager has been tirelessly creating 3D models of all possible variants of the fabricated items we manufacture at our West Yorkshire factory, no mean feat given that everything is bespoke!  Our Design Manager Tom is utilising the popular design software Solidworks for this task.

BIM, VR and Solidworks all add essential strings to our bow in terms of Airedale’s design capabilities, which already include stunning 3D visuals and non-VR walk-throughs as part of our service portfolio.
